Counselors & Mental Health Workers and Animal Welfare

Today we pray for the counselors and mental health workers who tend to the scars so often hidden from view, as well as those who care for the wild and domestic animals in Arlington. Lord, you created and care for us as embodied souls, such that wholeness includes the healthy integration of our body, mind and spirit. You also created animals and tell us in your Word to care for their welfare. We thank you that you know us completely and perfectly, and draw near to the brokenhearted. We pray for your image bearers who come alongside those in need of healing from trauma, grief, abuse, neglect, addiction, heartache, anxiety or despair. We thank you for giving them compassion and mercy for others, and for their years of training and experience. We ask that you would give them insight into the hidden recesses of the human heart, that they would counsel with tenderness, patience and wisdom. We also pray for the wild and domestic animals in our county, and pray for their welfare and the emotional support they provide. And may your image bearers flourish as they connect more closely to you, others, themselves and your creation. Amen.
