Lead Pastor Fellowship
For nearly 20 years, Arlington pastors have been gathering together for fellowship and prayer. Over the years, this gathering has taken on various forms, but it has always centered on mutual support and prayer. Arlington Bridge Builders was recently asked to coordinate the monthly fellowship luncheon, and we were more than happy to agree. We invite you to pray this gathering would continue to help foster unity among our churches, just as Jesus prayed the night before his crucifixion.
Bridge Kids Update
Our afterschool program continues to provide an important service to elementary students in South Arlington who want to learn English. In the last few weeks, we’ve seen many encouraging signs of growth!
Spring Coffee & Conversation
Over 20 people expressed an interest in participating in our winter Coffee & Conversation classes, which began on February 7th. The ultimate goal is not simply English proficiency but relationships, as the real barrier for many people is feeling they don’t belong.
Spring Citizenship Class
Our latest Citizenship class started February 7th, with about 10 students. In this class we lead participants through all the steps required to become United States citizens.
Yorktown Students Serve
Several Yorktown High School National Honor students volunteered their time on February 15th to assemble “Magic Island” craft packages for the children of disadvantaged families who visit the food pantry.
Veritas Students Serve
Thank you to the amazing students from Veritas Collegiate Academy, who dropped off food from their school food drive and stocked the new steel shelves at our food pantry.
Students Build Pantry Shelves
17,000 residents of Arlington face food insecurity, uncertain of how they will provide for their family’s most basic needs. Food pantries help meet that gap—especially when done with dignity. Thanks to the youth from Cherrydale Baptist Church and Yorktown High School for helping assemble the shelves and clean up the food pantry!
