Today we pray for Arlington’s sanitation workers and the water treatment plant. Lord, you created a beautiful and vibrant world for us to enjoy, steward and draw sustenance from. We thank you for your image bearers who not only help keep our county’s environment clean, but also protect our public health system. Proper sanitation and water treatment have had a profound impact on civilization, reducing or eradicating disease and contributing to human flourishing. And yet so often we take these blessings for granted, by not noticing or valuing the important work of our sanitation employees. Help them to feel seen and appreciated today, through our comments and support, and a word of appreciation when they serve our homes. May they flourish as they connect more closely to you, others, themselves and your creation. Amen.
