Today we pray for the students, teachers and administrative staff of Arlington’s six public high schools and programs. Lord Jesus, when you were on earth you “grew in wisdom and stature,” and so you intimately and experientially know what it is to be a young adult. You are the great Teacher, in whom is all truth and insight. We pray for your image bearers during these pivotal years of high school, as they face a whirlwind of physical, emotional and intellectual challenges, that they may know peace and wholeness. As they anticipate and prepare for life after high school, we pray you would be with them during their anxious and stressful moments. We pray for your image bearers who serve as teachers and staff, that you would enable them to instruct and care for our students well, and would feel encouraged and supported in what can be a very demanding yet thankless role. And may they all flourish as they connect more closely to you, others, themselves and your creation. Amen.
