Today we pray for the students, teachers and administrative staff of Arlington’s elementary schools and those who work in our public libraries. Lord Jesus, when you were on earth you “grew in wisdom and stature,” and so you intimately and experientially know what it is to be a student. You are also the great Teacher, in whom is all truth and insight. We pray for your image bearers during these foundational years of elementary school, that they develop the necessary educational and interpersonal abilities needed to thrive not only later in life, but today. We pray for your image bearers who serve as teachers and staff, that you would enable them to instruct and care for our students well, and would feel encouraged and supported in what can be a very demanding yet thankless role. We also pray for our public libraries and all those who help contribute to a thriving library system. And may they all flourish as they connect more closely to you, others, themselves and your creation. Amen.
