Today we pray for the Parks and Recreation Department, and all who provide us with clean and beautiful public spaces to enjoy and the enrichment programs that help us flourish. Lord, you are the God of all life, beauty and wonder. You created the world and all that is in it, for us to steward and enjoy. We pray for your image bearers who care for the many parks, fields, trails and wildlife areas that are within easy access of all residents. We are grateful to live in a place of such profound and abundant beauty, even in the heart of a metropolitan city. We pray that our natural resources would be well maintained and appreciated. We pray also for the many recreational, social, cultural, educational and artistic programs offered at community centers and facilities. May they not only enrich our individual lives but help us thrive as an interdependent community. And may all who work and play in these spaces flourish as they connect more closely to you, others, themselves and your creation. Amen.
