Today we pray for the churches and nonprofits in Arlington that demonstrate mercy and compassion to our vulnerable neighbors. Lord, you are the God of Mercy, a Father to the fatherless and a Protector of widows. You draw near to the brokenhearted and save the crushed in spirit. We pray for your image bearers who serve foster children, the homeless, and our neighbors who are recovering from mental health issues. May they be strengthened in the often hard work of compassion and feel supported by our community. And may they flourish as they connect more closely to you, others, themselves and the created order. Amen.
